PRIZES - THE PROCESS - THE OBJECT

THE PROCESS – 2015 EDITION 2

The cash prize money to be awarded amounts to 12,000 euros.
The jury will award this to one prizewinner, or may divide the amount in accordance with their findings between two or (at the most) three prizewinners.
In addition to the cash prizes, two 6-day residencies in the GlazenHuis glass studio will be awarded at a value of 3,900 euros including hot and cold glass studio time with a resident glass blower assistant, travel and accommodation expenses.

THE OBJECT – 2012 EDITION 1

The jury of the International Glass Prize 2012, consisting of Tina Oldknow (Corning Museum of Glass, New York), Richard Meitner (Universidade Nova de Lisboa) and Jeroen Maes (GlazenHuis, Lommel) handed out money prizes to Jeffrey Sarmiento (US/UK), Koijiro Yoshiaki (JP) and Alexander Rosenberg (US) for the objects Comb (2010), Shiro .former 1 (2012) and Repertoire (2010-11). Next to the awarded objects from Sarmiento and Yoshiaki the objects Seduction (2012) and Obsession (2012) from Maria Bang Espersen (DK) were purchased for the city's glass collection. Two residency periods at the glass studio of the GlazenHuis were offered to Espersen and Rosenberg. The public prize of 2,500 euros was granted after online and visitor voting to Siobhan Healy (UK) for the object Herbarium (2011).
